Another member of the nightshade family, the eggplant is a beautiful fruit which is, believe it or not, considered to be a berry! Who would have thought?
Another wonderful addition to our "menu".

YOU WILL NEED:
Worsted Weight yarn (2 colors – deep purple and green)
4mm crochet hook
polyfill stuffing

ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc – 2 sc in one stitch
sc2tog – decrease 2 sc using the invisible decrease method (put hook through FRONT LOOP ONLY of next 2 stitches [3 loops on hook], yarn over and pull through 2 loops 2 times)

Rnd 7: sc around
Rnd 8: (sc 11, inc in next) x3 (39)
Rnd 9-11: sc around
Rnd 12: (sc 11, sc2tog) x3 (36)
Rnd 13: sc around
Rnd 14: (sc 10, sc2tog) x3 (33)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, weave the tail through the last 6 stitches and pull tight to close. Weave in ends.

Rnd 5: sc 6, slst in first sc
Rnd 6: (3 sc in front loop only, slst) x3
Rnd 7: ( 2 sc, {hdc, ch3,slst in 1st ch, hdc} in next, 2sc, slst in slst. Fasten off and sew stem to small end of eggplant. Weave in ends.
